Donations in support of Nostos: Encounters with the Open Program

We have been generously supported by a number of neighbouring departments at the University of Toronto.  We are sponsored by the Jackman Humanities Institute’s Program for the Arts on Translation and the Multiplicity of Languages and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and we have reached out into the community to build partnerships with theatre companies and local businesses.

Are we near our goal for the residency we need your help too!

We deeply value the support of members of our community.

Why Donate?

This residency is the first of its kind in Canada.  We are warmly welcoming the ten artists of the Open Program for two weeks, and we want to make sure their stay with us reflects how much we value the work they do, and what we will discover between us during this time, and beyond.  Your donation will go to keeping student rates low, so that young, emerging artists and scholars will be able to access all this residency has to offer.

Where does my money go?

It travels through the Centre for Drama Studies Trust, so that you will receive a tax receipt.  Then, once the Drama Centre has the money, it is directed to the Nostos budget.  However, we can mark your gift to contribute to whatever portion of the project you like.  Please be in touch with us to discuss this further.

What about gifts-in-kind?  What do you need?

Gifts in-kind are certainly also more than welcome! We will graciously accept gifted or subsidized flights for the ten visiting artists from New York City, accommodation services for their stay in Toronto, food and beverages for our public events, and use of performance/rehearsal venues, promotion assistance, community outreach, and more!

To make arrangements for a donation for Nostos: Encounters with the Open Program, please contact Rebecca Biason, our communications coordinator.

Cheques can be made payable to THE UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO. If you desire a tax receipt, please be sure to let us know.

With questions, to start a conversation about possibilities of collaboration, or to discuss gifts in-kind, please contact us.

TO OUR SPONSORS, we extend our profound thanks for making this project possible.  Please visit our Sponsors page to learn more.
